Outsourced Pastoral Care for Churches

Supporting congregations through substance use, mental health challenges, and life crises

Churches are increasingly carrying the weight of substance use, mental health struggles, grief, and complex life crises within their congregations. Pastors and ministry teams are often expected to respond compassionately and effectively—while already stretched thin.

Palm & Willow partners with churches to provide outsourced pastoral care that supports congregants and ministry leaders during difficult seasons, without replacing the role of the local church or its leadership.

A Proven Focus in Substance Use & Mental Health

For more than seven years, Palm & Willow’s leadership has worked specifically at the intersection of pastoral care, substance use, and mental health. This experience has shaped how we walk with individuals and families affected by addiction, relapse, recovery, and the emotional and spiritual strain that often surrounds these challenges.

Because of our long-standing presence in the mental health and substance use community, we remain closely connected to:

  • Treatment programs and levels of care

  • Recovery and support resources

  • Community-based and faith-adjacent services

  • Evolving best practices and care pathways

This allows us to provide informed pastoral guidance that is grounded in real-world awareness of what is actually available to individuals in need—rather than relying on outdated or generic referrals.

How Palm & Willow Supports Churches

Palm & Willow provides non-clinical, pastoral care and guidance for individuals and families navigating:

  • Substance use and addiction-related struggles

  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional overwhelm

  • Grief, bereavement, and loss

  • Major life transitions and crises

  • Spiritual distress tied to mental or emotional strain

Our role is to walk alongside, help individuals process what they’re experiencing, and assist in navigating next steps—always in alignment with the church’s values and leadership structure.

A Supportive Extension of Your Ministry

Palm & Willow is not a replacement for pastoral leadership, counseling ministries, or discipleship.

Instead, we function as:

  • An additional layer of care when needs exceed internal capacity

  • A confidential support option for congregants hesitant to seek help internally

  • Relief for pastors carrying repeated crisis conversations

  • A bridge between pastoral care and outside resources when appropriate

We respect church authority, theological boundaries, and pastoral oversight.

Substance Use & Mental Health Pastoral Care

Churches are often the first place people turn when substance use or mental health struggles surface. These situations are rarely linear and often involve uncertainty, fear, and repeated setbacks.

Palm & Willow provides:

  • Pastoral support for individuals impacted by addiction and recovery challenges

  • Care for family members affected by a loved one’s substance use

  • Guidance informed by current, real-world resource availability

  • Support without shame, pressure, or clinical labeling

We do not diagnose, treat, or provide clinical therapy. We provide pastoral presence, discernment, and informed guidance, helping individuals and churches navigate the landscape wisely.

Support for Pastors & Ministry Leaders

Pastors and ministry leaders are often caring for others while carrying their own emotional and spiritual load—especially when substance use or mental health concerns are involved.

Palm & Willow can also support:

  • Pastors experiencing burnout or compassion fatigue

  • Ministry leaders navigating repeated crisis exposure

  • Confidential space for leaders who need to process without fear of burdening their congregation
